World’s Oldest Single Grain Irish Whiskey Released

Wednesday May 14, 2008

Cooley Distillery, the only independent distiller of Irish whiskey, recently announced the release of Greenore 15 Year Old Single Grain Irish Whiskey. Single grain whiskeys are rare as most grain whiskey is used in blends. This makes Greenore the oldest bottling of Irish grain whiskey ever released.

The 15 Year Old joins her little sister, the Greenore 8 Year Old, in the Cooley portfolio. The release will be limited to 5,000 bottles, while the award-winning 8 Year Old will remain a permanent offering.

As of publication, I have been unable to locate a source for the 15 Year Old in the United States. Please drop me a line if you stumble upon a bottle.
